iPhone Air 2 is approaching, here's everything we know so far

Apple is reportedly working on the second generation of the iPhone Air. The first model sold worse than expected, and the company reportedly considered canceling it. However, development is continuing. Here is an overview of everything we know so far about the iPhone Air 2.

iPhone Air 2 Features

Second Camera

One of the main limitations of the first iPhone Air was only one camera. This should change with the second generation. According to sources such as Bloomberg and The Information, the iPhone Air 2 will get a second ultra-wide-angle camera, similar to the base iPhone models.

A20 Pro Chip

The iPhone Air 2 will be powered by the A20 Pro processor, compared to the A19 Pro in the current model. It will be Apple's first 2nm chip, bringing higher performance and lower power consumption. Another new feature is the Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module technology integrating SoC and DRAM.

Better Battery Life

According to supply chain leaks, the iPhone Air 2 will get a battery with a capacity of 3,500 mAh, which is more than 10% higher than the first generation (3,149 mAh). The more efficient A20 Pro chip will also contribute to longer battery life.

Vapor Chamber

Reports indicate that the iPhone Air 2 will be equipped with a vapor chamber for cooling. This technology debuted with the iPhone 17 Pro and provides better heat dissipation and maintains high performance under extended load.

Release Date

Originally, it was expected that the iPhone Air 2 would be released in September 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series. However, according to the latest reports from Bloomberg, Apple plans to launch it in spring 2027, together with the new base iPhone 18.
