Mark Gurman from Bloomberg revealed the iPhone 18 Pro colors just hours before today’s Apple event, titled „Surprise and Shine“. According to his information, the Pro and Pro Max models will come in four color variants: Black, Light Blue, Silver, and Burgundy.
Four colors instead of three
Last year, the iPhone 17 Pro was available in just three colors, and black was missing. Now, according to Gurman, black is making a comeback. Earlier speculation agreed on a new Dark Cherry shade and a light blue option, but sources differed on the other colors. Some tipsters claimed the third color would be Silver, while others said Black. Gurman now states that all four will be introduced.
Mock-ups released in May by Sonny Dickson showed Black, Silver, Dark Cherry, and Light Blue. Gurman’s list differs in the last color, replacing Dark Cherry with Burgundy. The discrepancy between sources remains.
The first foldable iPhone is called iPhone Duo
According to MacRumors, Apple will unveil its first foldable phone at the September event. Gurman confirmed it will be named iPhone Duo. The base model with 256GB of storage is expected to cost $2,000, while the highest configuration could reach around $3,000. Gizmodo notes that the price may climb to $2,199 or higher due to rising RAM costs.
The iPhone Duo will be available in two colors. MacRumors mentions white and dark blue, but Gizmodo reports that speculation has yet to agree on whether the colors will be white and black or dark blue. Sales are expected to begin no earlier than October.
Technical details of the foldable iPhone
According to Gizmodo, the iPhone Duo will feature a display of approximately 5.5 inches when closed, expanding to 7.8 inches when opened. The device’s thickness is expected to be just over 4 millimeters, making it the thinnest iPhone in history. Instead of Face ID, it will feature Touch ID integrated into the side button. The hinge will be made from aluminum and titanium.
What to expect from the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max
Both models are expected to retain the same screen sizes as the previous generation, with 6.3 and 6.9 inches, according to Gizmodo. The iPhone 18 Pro will feature the A20 chip with improved image processing and artificial intelligence capabilities. The Pro Max may be the only model to include a variable aperture for the main camera. Tom’s Guide reports that Dynamic Island will not disappear but could shrink and gain new functions.
The Apple „Surprise and Shine“event takes place on Wednesday, September 9, at 10:00 AM Pacific Time. In addition to iPhones, other announcements are expected.
